The advantages of Barchart can be seen in its use with respect to charting, market access and scanners. Whether using it as a free or premier user, the tools on the website will allow most investors and swing traders to identify opportunities and execute profitable trading or investing strategies.

Barchat.com Charting Advantages

Barchart.com charts are done slightly different to most other competitor sights. Unlike trading View or TC2000 where the chart is the main feature and your fundamentals, subsidiary assets and scanner analysis tools are a distant second, Barchart aims to provide a more holistic approach to each asset.

Despite the companies name, the charting component is more of a main ingredient in a salad rather than the dominant feature of which everything else hangs off. That being said, their charting software still provides a lot of flexibility.

You still get a wide array of all your technical and fundamental indicators.

The charting time periods range from 1 minute to quarterly candles.

You also have access to live data feeds on prices irrespective of you being on a free or premier subscription. The data feed for live USA equities is taken from the CBOE BZX exchange. However, outside of USA equities all other data feed is delayed unless you pay a bit extra.

What is the Disadvantages of Barchart.com

There are several main disadvantages to Barchart depending on your style of trading or investing.

Barchart does not have access to the Asian markets. If these markets are part of your portfolio or trading strategies, Barchart will not be helpful.

The other disadvantage is for use as a trading style interactive charting. It does not allow for easy use charting software that you would see in a TC2000 or Trading View. If you are a day trader, then you may want to look at Barcharts live data feeds that it incorporates with more extensive charting software. However, you may be able to use Barcharts screeners to help identify possible breaks and then use your other charting software for execution.

That being said, for its premier price of $16 per month, with its vast array of investing swing style charting options and immersive scanners and filters, Barchart is a more cost effective alternative to most other information grade competitors.
